But before talking about these theories, let’s see a big misconception that people have about these pyramids. It is often shown in films that slave labor was used while making these pyramids. Remember, you must have seen this in some or the other film. For a long time, people used to think that these pyramids were built by slaves by Herodotus, a Greek historian living in the fifth century BC.

Talking about construction materials, about 5.5 million tonnes of limestone, 8000 tons of granite, and 5 lakh tons of mortar were used. Copper was the most common metal used at that time. So the tools that were made were made of copper. The harder stones used to be granite, they were broken by using dolerite. Many of their methods were quite unique. As if they used to find cracks and holes inside the stones and with hammers they used to put wedges made of wood which were soaked inside the water.
Mysteries of the Pyramids:
As that stone absorbs water, these wedges would expand further and that stone would break. The biggest question has come to this, How were these stones moved? At that time wheels were not used in carts, so there was no vehicle-like machine that put wheels on the bottom, put stones on it, and moved away with it.
The most possible theory is that here to bring the stone from such a distance, they used to make rafts which used to float on the river. After that, when the stone came near the pyramid, they used sleds to keep one stone on top of the other in the wet soil.
This is a very interesting theory that I have come to know very recently. A study was done in 2014 and the basis of this theory is actually a painting that was found in djehutihotep tomb. This tool is much later, it is from 1900 BC. But in this painting, you can see about 170 people.
They are dragging a statue on a sled and using ropes to pull such a heavy thing. If you look carefully at this painting, you will see how a man is pouring water on the sand in front of the statue.
Initially, archeology thought that it would be a ritual, some tradition, pouring water in front of them, but when physicist Daniel Bonn and his team tested it, it was found that if a certain amount of water is present in the sand, then on the ground And the friction of the thing that rubs on the ground reduces to a great extent.
This ratio is very fine, about 2 to 5 percent water in sand, with its help it becomes very easy to drag things in wet sand. Now the next question arises here, You will ask, Okay, let’s agree that stones can be pushed from here to there in the sand.
But how can the stones be stacked on top of each other? Use machines without knowing how to lift such heavyweights at the end.
Now generally a system of police can be made to raise it but as I told you which did not exist during the wheel fourth dynasty in Egypt, used to exist but it was used only for portery. So the answer is, here friends, a very unique system of ramps has been made.
In the year 2015, a team of English and French archaeologists uncovered a 4500-year-old wooden ramp from a quarry, so scholars said that a ramp of this type must have been built at that time, which was a straight slope from ground to top.
To push the stones over this slope, they used a system where they buried wooden poles around. Then they used ropes around those sticks to pull that stone up. Something like this as you can see in the artwork, was suggested by physicist Joseph West in the year 2014.
According to this theory, after completing each level of the pyramid, these people must have made a new slope and so that the angle of the slope is not high, they must have taken the slope to the back, that is, starting the slope from the back so that it does not tilt too much in that slope.
Apart from this, another theory says that they must have used a system of levers to keep the stones on top of each other. See how it works in the drawings, basically took a middle point whose height was a little more, put a stick on top of it put some weight on the other side of the stick, and then rotated it and placed it on top.
Scholars believe that a similar system, which they have named shadoof, existed in Egypt for thousands of years. These people also used this mechanism to extract water from the Nile River to irrigate their fields.
Both these theories sound very good but the problem comes here at the construction time. We know that the pyramids were completed within twenty years, if twenty thousand people will transport stones here one by one in this way, then every three minutes one stone should be placed here on every single day of the year.
It seems quite unlikely that they would have worked with such speed here. Exactly this is the reason that till today this thing is a big mystery. Both these theories sound good but do not fully explain what exactly happened here.
We definitely know here that the first few layers of the pyramid were placed without any mortar, that is, without any thickener, but mortar was definitely added to the upper layers, due to which the stability of the structure increased This is the reason why many earthquakes have occurred in so many thousands of years, still this pyramid of Giza is standing till today.
By the way, even a mystery scientist definitely knows about this mortar, what is its exact chemistry? But the scientists could not recreate it. Finally construction of This last step, the outer layer of the pyramid was made of very fine whiteish limestone.
This means that whenever sunlight used to come here, all these pyramids would be shining very white. This is something that has been broken after so many thousands of years.
This outer layer has been warned off from the pyramids of Khufu and Menkaure, but you can still see a little bit of this layer at the top of the pyramid of Khafire. Now going beyond construction and coming to the design of these pyramids, this is also a very fascinating thing.
Do you know that these pyramids have been designed in such a way that their four directions are pointing exactly in North East South West? There is a very small error, here there is an error of 1 to 15 of 1 degree, which is a very small error.
Almost assume that they are pointing in all four directions in a very accurate manner. How can it be that there was no compass, no modern technology, and no GPS at that time? So once again the researchers have tried to give their theoretical explanations for how the Egyptians achieve such a high level of precision.
The Orion mystery unlocking the secrets of the pyramids:
One of the popular theories is about Autumn Equinox. When the tilt of the earth becomes in such a way that day and night are exactly equal. The shadow falling on the ground is in a straight line in East and West direction. If the Egyptians had used this method, then the degree of error that came in their calculations.
The same degree of error is also present in this shadow when the Autumn Equinox occurs. So the second theory is told here regarding constellations. Seeing the directions of the stars in the sky, the Egyptians aligned their designs here.
In 1989, Robert Bauval, an author and Egyptology enthusiast, created his own Orion correlation theory. He said that the three pyramids of Giza are actually aligned in the state line of the three stars of the Orion belt.
They say that the alignment was intentional and the ancient Egyptians knew about astronomy. He used to track the stars at night and study them.
Accordingly, he used to harvest some of his crops at certain different times. Historians believe that there is a fringe theory, whatever mainstream means by fringe.
Some points that are given against this theory are that the three pyramids were not planned at one time nor were they built at one time and in 1999 when astronomers actually tested this theory out and the stars of the Orion constellation On seeing, it came to know that the pyramids do not align exactly according to that and the thing is that actually the constellation that is there has been slightly shaken, after so many thousands of years, the alignment of the stars is not in the same way that we see today.
It is necessary to mention this theory here because it is a classic case where humans try to find patterns, even if patterns do not exist. When we don’t have concrete evidence of things and don’t have an exact explanation, then we make our own ideas and if we find a link anywhere, we accept it as true.
Take the same thing to a new level and exaggerate it, and then more strange theories emerge. People say that aliens have made these pyramids because it is not possible that humans would have done this. In my opinion, such strange theories go against scientific thinking.
